An Experience Unlike Any Other
Our family's commitment to fine cuisine and hospitality dates back to 1936. It all began in 1951 when our dad, Rod Keller, opened a roadside restaurant called Rod’s Ranch House on Morristown’s Madison Avenue. Serving exceptional cuisine in a warm atmosphere, the rustic log cabin grew. In 1963 it was transformed into 1890’s Ranch House, a fine dining oasis specializing in steaks and seafood.
An avid admirer of Victorian-era decorative arts, Rod's personal collection of antiques adorns the restaurant today. In 1964, Rod purchased two turn of the century Antique Pullman Cars that had been in storage yards for years. The cars were meticulously restored to their original grandeur and today serve as one of the most unique and intimate venues anywhere to enjoy Rod's award winning cuisine.
In preparation for the new millennium, an extensive renovation was undertaken in 1998, transforming the restaurant to Rod's Steak & Seafood Grille. Rich wood paneling, shining brass, and warm tones were combined to give Rod's a sophisticated look and position the restaurant for the turn of a new century and the celebration of its 50th Anniversary.
Today, we are proud to say that Rod's Steak & Seafood Grille, winner of the Five Star Diamond Award from The American Academy of Hospitality Sciences, is indeed New Jersey's Legendary Steak House. Our greatest compliment is when friends bring their friends, and families allow us to be a part of their memorable celebrations.
From our family to yours, we invite you to experience the unparalleled service and exceptional cuisine of Rod's Steak & Seafood Grille.
